Wisdom Health Center's initial steps
Wisdom Health Center is dedicated to helping people who have a health related issue they want to resolve through the natural healing process. We work with the patient to design a diet, lifestyle and treatment regiment that will address the cause of the health problem and provide lasting results.
Below is a list of the steps of how we work starting with becoming a new patient. This list will give you an idea of what to expect when working with us.
Step 1: Becoming a new patient
After reviewing the contents of this website or by a strong recommendation of someone you know, you may have decided to become a patient or you may have questions that we would love to answer for you. In either case the first step is contacting this office with a phone call. We'd be happy to answer any question you have about how we may be able to help you with your health. After a few simple qualifying questions for you we can schedule a time for you to come in for an initial health history and evaluation. All new patient information and paper work is located on this website or we can email them to you.
You can download new patient forms here.
**Fill out the forms and bring them with you to your initial visit. Also during the call we will give you any other instruction on what to do or bring on the day of your appointment. Please abstain from using any lotions or strong smelling perfumes on the day of your visits. Come comfortably dressed and hydrated. Bring any recent lab test with you such as blood work.
Step 2: The evaluation
Your initial evaluation includes a complete health history with both Dr Dean Schaner and Jenn Jessup and takes about 45 mins to an hour to complete. The health history interview will provide us the necessary information as to the nature of your health issue, what follow up testing we may require, and what your goals and expectation are and if you are a good candidate for our care.
After the health history interview Dr Dean Schaner will perform a initial patient examination which includes a complete physical, functional neurological, spinal, and kinesiological evaluation. This evaluation is designed to help identify the areas in your body that are dysfunctioning even if there is no frank pathology present. This is an evaluation of "functional physiology" - how the body works - or in most cases not working like it should.
With the information gathered in your health history and the examination, we will put a report together and will schedule a time on a later date to review it with you.
Step 3: The report
At the report of findings we will review with you our findings and assessment as to the nature of your condition, what is causing your issues and what can be done about it. We will give you treatment options to address these issues and based on your needs and desired result you will have the ability to choose how you want to proceed forward. We will review what the expected cost of your can will be and payment options available. It is our intent that you be well informed about the nature of your condition and what it will require to help you achieve the results you are looking for and that you make a powerful decision about making an investment in your health.
*Step 4: The treatment
The treatment with Dr Schaner is a kinesiology (manual muscle testing) based treatment which is designed to address the issues of the body in the order that the body indicates to address them in.
Kinesiology or manual muscle testing has been researched and developed for decades now and has proven to be a valuable asset in determining the nature and solution for a patient's health related issue. Through the strong / weak, on / off muscle responses of the neuro-muscular system we are able to receive immediate feedback from the body. We can immediately determine area's of problems within the body and positive (life promoting / healing) stimuli, substances, therapies or remedies versus negative (life destroying / disease causing) substances and agents.
Kinesiology provides information that other testing can not. Direct and immediate information from the the body. In this way treatments are guided by your bodies own innate intelligence.
Treatments often include: the resetting of biological circuits in the body, balancing of the nervous system and acupuncture meridian systems, homeopathy, color and sound therapy, and the chiropractic adjustment for a full physical and energetic treatment.
Treatments are safe and pain free. Most people leave feeling "lighter", clear head and relaxed. This happens as a result of resetting and harmonizing your bodies energy circuits.
Following the treatment Dr Schaner will give you instruction on what you need to do to heal yourself, such as what foods to avoid, how much water you need to drink, how many meals you need to eat, if you need to change something in your life or if you need supportive therapy like massage. It is import to follow these instruction and to keep your schedule appointments. This will insure that you your body stays balanced and that you are heading and stay heading in the direction of improved health.
Step 5: Nutritional and Individual Dietary Support
After your initial treatment with Dr Dean you will receive a full packet of great information to help you stay on track. We will provide you with a guide on how to get started with your nutrition health plan. In addition, you will work with Nutrition Therapist, Jenn Jessup to ensure your individual dietary and health needs are supported.
Good nutrition and eating habits are fundamental for building health and long term disease prevention. In our experience many people believe that they are "eating healthy" but upon further evaluation we find that most patient have many gaps in their nutrition and carry misconceptions about what nourishing eating really means. Our goal for you is that we fill in the gaps in your nutrition and give you true and accurate information about what is "healthy" and what is hype, and that no one way of eating is right for everyone. We will explore your relationship with food and build a positive perspective to which foods you eat, why you eat them.
